In a surprising crossover event that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the official statement, "A strange encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned rituals and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden sect.
The adventure centers on "peculiar tests and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also introduces the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma."
